On another early morning.... triolet
what's a night owl to do
when she just can't say no
when the sleeps are too few
what's a night owl to do
she'll admit it's not new
that you reap what you sow
what's a night owl to do
when she just can't say no
so... I am becoming obsessed with this poetic form; I wasn't planning on writing another one, but then I agreed to ( yet another ) early morning commitment even though I love to sleep in, and "my" night is between 4:00--11:00 am. No matter when I go to bed, if I wake up in there around 7:00 am or 8:00 am, it always feels like I have been wrenched into the day out of the middle of the night. Ah, well... off to the next adventure :))
ReplyDeleteWithout the night we have no day. Without the darkness we have no light...
ReplyDeletedon't stop now. follow your obsession. bravo!
ReplyDeleteThe night owl should do what she do as many times as she wants it done then with a sweet soft kiss roll over and have a nice nap. That's one thing or many actually a night owl can do. Who? Who!
ReplyDeleteYou do them very well. I wish I was so disciplined instead of writing whatever tumbles forth from my brain.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking, it also means more when there is something to feel behind the form. As do your words here.
Jimmy-- so true... the yin/yang of this amazing dance.
ReplyDeleteGerry-- thanks for the encouragement, and thanks for the visit :)
WM-- whoo whoo... indeed; I am good with being a night owl.... but I sure do like a good sleep as well!
SarahA-- thanks for the kind words; you have a discipline of instinct that is lovely indeed. I am glad you like this piece..
