Vive ut vivas, the Latin for " live so that you may live". Appropriate for today, my dad's birthday. 80 today and still waiting for the ship that left him here to come and collect him. This is a family joke about my father who has survived so many medical crises that his specialists tell us that he is an alien. I have written about my day in other posts, but especially the one about the old skipper on 4/13/09. He and I have lots of stuff in our respective pasts that is less than stellar; and we are learning how to live with it and beyond it. I love you, dad.
ReplyDeleteYour father sounds like a wealthy man. Congratulations on being here now.
ReplyDeleteBelated happy birthday to him. I should learn more from the practice.
ReplyDeleteThe old skipper has wasted no time in practice.
ReplyDeletePunch-- in all the ways that count, he is. thanks for the comment;
ReplyDeleteMadame--by all reports, the birthday was a happy one; and i have to agree with you on the learning..... i like the practice, i would like to be a better learner. cheers
aporia--he is resilient to a fault.... and seems to be continuing with his learning; life is still an adventure. as i hope it is for you... thanks for the visit and the comment ;)
