  1. Vive ut vivas, the Latin for " live so that you may live". Appropriate for today, my dad's birthday. 80 today and still waiting for the ship that left him here to come and collect him. This is a family joke about my father who has survived so many medical crises that his specialists tell us that he is an alien. I have written about my day in other posts, but especially the one about the old skipper on 4/13/09. He and I have lots of stuff in our respective pasts that is less than stellar; and we are learning how to live with it and beyond it. I love you, dad.
