there's a story there.....

and the moral of the story is :
when your car sounds like a vacuum cleaner, DO NOT drive it a distance that will require roadside assistance ... from a tow truck!

  1. This is very sound advice.
Hope it was not too painful.

  2. Punch-- I will likely spin the yarn in a soon to be posted post, with a bit of necessary self-deprecating humour for good measure; not too painful.... and it's what I get for believing a mechanic!!

  3. Laughing...If you know The Walking Man's blog, I would not let him here that, but then again he might agree.

  4. When your car sounds like a vacuum cleaner
and your mechanic tells you it is safe to drive,
and you are left stranded on the road,
    and nobody is there,
does the sucking make a noise?

Glad you survived the ordeal, HQ!

  5. Punch -- I am a frequent reader at WM and he oft-times drops by here as well... he might agree! My dad is a mechanic ( retired ) and no one disparages the profession more than an insider...ouch.
Aporia-- the sucking sound stopped-- quite abruptly,actually... kinda unnerving, and I was alone. how tragic is that!? but, hey,the fella who towed me back was personable and the air was cool and I had a book to read while I waited.... it's all good. thanks for stopping by and for the existentially stimulating post :))

  8. Madame- next post will provide more of the gory details; thanks for the visit
Gerry--ha ha; glad to provide a laugh.... you can either laugh or cry, I guess. Car's in the shop, and after i give over a pound of flesh and a quart of blood, I can pick it up ship shape and drive it away.
