Fair Warning

so, it's that time of year again..... in a couple of weeks my autism camp that's been running every summer since 1996 is back in all its glory.

last summer I did a little series on some of the characters and events that are so much a part of what makes this experience the funny, sad and human experience that it is; this summer I'd like to give that another go. I realize that autism is not everyone's cup of tea as an interest area, so I will also work at making the stories and descriptions something that can be appreciated as glimpses of what is sweet, poignant and meaningful in the every day, mundane world of summer autism camp.

thanks for reading and here's hoping I can do these kids a bit of justice.

  1. I work with a man who has an autisic child. There is another way to discribe it that he uses. I can't think of it right now. Something syndrome I think.
He is very kind when dealing with her, and all the people, ok most of the people, he meets with her as also. She is an inspiration. You are a special person to be able to work with this aspect of life. It is beyound my skill level.
I enjoy reading your posts. I sometime use them to kick other bloggers, but I am award of how it might hurt that father of such a person. Hope I don't offend. (this sounds odd, i'm sure)
I look forward to the stories.

  2. I couldn't be happier you reminded me you are here. Now that I seem to have high speed as a lurking pirate outside an unsecured network in my neighborhood, plus access on my work computer that is fast enough, I can expand my focus. Before I was hampered by slow (28.8 kbps) speed caused by degraded phone lines. I can't even now justify more than $15 US a month for internet.

You are born again and so am I. I am sticking you in my reader now that I have the chance.
