intuitively, you took my hands
at a moment of emotional intensity
you held them
without reservation
or shame

many moons later
your willingness, kindness and authenticity
sustain me
& I live in the warmth of knowing
what it means
to have someone
who's got my back

  1. At times I think having a friend is better than the eyes I have grown in the back of my head.

  2. WM, Punch and jadedj... thanks for your wonderful confirmation of this great feeling.
Jon--- :)... worth a thousand words.

  3. Beautifull romantic, makes me feel at home, makes me want to feel like that once more, because I use to, before. But I do not think you can look for those things, they just do happen or not.

  4. It's all very well having someone to get your back, but every now and then you need someone to get your front :D

  5. Mariana-- thanks for the description of your felt sense of this offering;
Pisces... I laughed out loud at this comment... I am so glad that you visit, read and comment; well done!

  7. Crow-- thanks for this comment. I really liked your post about your grandson... touching.

  8. Oh I like this one Harlequin.....
Love the idea, the reality and the alternative offered by Pisces.

  9. Linda-- thanks; I also like how visitors can open up so many possibilities...

  10. thanks, Dave-- I 'm liking the optimism thing!
