Trust

you allow yourself to be
vulnerable
knowing that I will not use that against you
ever
as precious as love
and perhaps even more
rare and remarkable

  1. What a wonderful thought. It should happen more often. Most of what I have shared in love has come back as a club swing at my head. But you can't let that stop you.

  2. It wouldn't be love without the vulnerability...would it?

  3. So sweet, very nice poem. I always think that is better to hide your vulerabilities to almsot everybody, because if they know them they can be turn against you. But you have to share it with your closet people, cause they can help you a lot.

  7. Punch--nope, you can't... I agree; still, love is one thing and trust quite another
jadedj--could not agree more; when else is anyone more raw??
Mariana-- " share it with your closest people" : lovely
    WM --this is so you...
Jimmy--probably no fun, but what a site that point is ... a literary axis of rotation, a fireworks of expressive potential
Linda--vulnerability and loyalty, these are two sweet solitudes

thanks, y'all, for these thoughtful and heartfelt comments.

  8. I agree with Linda S: it depends upon what you are vulnerable to. Nothing wrong with vulnerability per se. Nice poem. Liked it a lot.
