a boat
has to float
on its own bottom
if not
it doesn't
if it doesn't
it isn't

  1. with thanks ( I think!! ) to Julia Kristeva and Umberto Eco for the ingredients for this little tribute to sign systems...

  2. I really should check in here more often. I like what I read.

  3. Jimmy-- well, you just made my day!thanks...
I always enjoy visiting your site and happily welcome your visits to mine... anytime!

  4. A capsized boat is still a boat afloat but it's bottom is on the top and the top now the bottom. It may not sail as nice but a boat it remains. All that aside I love the word play.

  5. if it doesnt it doesnt
    if it isnt it isnt
but it was not does it

  6. WM and Maria-- your comments are quite the duet!! nice work, you two...
as for the little verse... it kind of took on a patter of its own, so I went with it. I liked how you both took that up as well. thanks.

  7. And if it isn't, it never was!Ha!I love her, you.Sometimes I think the fewer words can make one think far more.

  8. Love your stuff.....You have3 more that a casual way with words . Very nice

  9. Few words but mean a lots. Precise to its meaning and I really love it. You play with the words so well.

Thanks and look forward to hearing from you again.

  10. SarahA and Linda-- ha... I love it when I see a
"ha!"... more more!...I, too, agree with the principle of parsimony.
    glad you enjoy this stuff...

  11. James-- thanks for this thoughtful comment... I am glad you visited and that you liked the wordplay.
    Come on back anytime...
