Solstice and beyond

Two months and more
well, for sure
I did not feel that time move
I did not feel the twilight
or the dawns
I moved like a dragonfly
hovering, busy in many directions, adept at negotiating
the all day darknesses

mostly doing no harm
braced
praying
hoping
some days, swaying

body sore and bone tired
ready for soft rain
soft snow
soft fog
any fog
as long as it is still, the way only fog can be still

I will wander into it and find a clean river and there
I will sit, become nothing
become part of everything
become still

after that
some kind of return
will be possible.

  1. Hellish couple of months, capped off with .... another water damage renovation!! yes, one CAN lift her way back into fighting shape moving boxes, furniture, and other obnoxious large objects.
Could not believe that I had not written in so long... health is creeping back. No more chemo in the near future (yippee!!!) and settling in to my 'new normal'. Lots of adjustments still, but also lots to reflect on and write about.
Season's best to all of you and a safe and happy new year.

  2. Well, the no chemo is certainly a spot of good news! I've just recently been trying to get back in the blogging game, as you've seen. Funny how I've missed the writing but have such a hard time doing much more than posting dachshund pictures! Ah, well ... Here's to health and happiness and a fitness regime that doesn't also involve home repairs!
