Punching Smoke

trying to be
mature
at my age
continuing  to be
something
struggling to be
better than I am
 encountering
gossip
&
deceit
claiming to be
authentic

trying to be
fair...
 I tend my own garden
looking over my shoulder only
occasionally
 learning to trust
instincts
after all this time
learning to be

  1. Hmmmm. Mature. I am mature, in years, but not necessarily in mind. However, maybe the fact that much of what used to matter doesn't matter anymore, is the real maturity, and as you say, just being is what matters. Be?

  3. Trying to be mature never works for me since I'm too busy sulking.

  4. jadedj-- thanks for the kind words; i often wonder about maturity as well... it seems as elusive to me now as it did when i was an adolescent... but perhaps that self awareness is half the battle :)
Pisces--now that is a goal to aspire to.... sulking.... i never got around to practicing that one much.... you inspire me!! i'll keep you posted.
