Humidity

weeds grow
defiantly
blow
once the evening
breezes (in)
begin (s)
teasing
it's easier to believe
tomorrow's heat
will not be so
impossibly
wet

  3. "Dog breath weather" is my sister's term for this humid summer stuff.

At least the heat hasn't melted your brain, like I fear it has mine. Your rhymes are nice here.

  4. Sounds like the plain Plains the last few days. Not a hint of a breeze. Stifling.

  5. punch-- i've only been to Florida once and it was in november....so i likely have missed its splendour.. it seems there are resonances with my own locale
intelliwench-- thanks for the kind comment; dog breath weather is a great line !!
jadedj-- my Plains experiences are also limited, but it sounds like you can relate to the last few days here in my little piece of humid hell.

thanks, y'all.... nice to see that i am not alone in my humid misery :)

  7. madame -- thanks for the visit and the comment on the shape of the poem. i experiment with it from time to time (my son encourages me to be adventurous with how poetry and space and shape relate to each other.... )
