the shape of this space

near the telephone
a makeshift chair creates a corner
I fold myself into the curve of its shoulder
and breathe in
the sound of your voice

  1. I guess that when the phone rings you are simply compelled to answer it then eh?

  2. wm-- nice connection, there. here's the thing: my son and i chat on the phone on sundays, and therein lies the difference...I WANT to be on the phone with my son. other calls, not so much....
    thanks for the visit.

  3. Reminds me of all the calls made when courting. Just doesn't quite have the same effect these days :)

  4. I love the 'softness' in this and how each word is like a breath.

  5. A tranquil corner for a private conversation; not common these days when everyone feels compelled to to share their conversations with everyone else on the train.

  6. Madame-- thanks for this nice remembrance; there is something about longing for that voice, yes. thanks for the visit
SarahA-wow--what a sweet comment; i'm glad i was able to convey this mood... i was sorta hoping that might happen.
Pisces--you remind me of how rare both tranquility and privacy are; thanks for the visit and this thoughtful comment.
