Sarnath ...

..... the place where the Buddha is said to have given his first teaching, containing the simple message: you have it within you to discover how you should relate to this world; now, let me give you a gentle nudge in that direction.

here, at the conclusion of my first fully online teaching experience, I am reminded why it is that teaching ( and learning, and readiness and willingness to learn) is ( are) important.... the sweet dance of nudging and being nudged.

  1. A dance whose steps are unfamiliar to most who call themselves teachers. (excludes present company :))

  2. With two and three year olds, you get to dance every day, both literally and figuratively. The best thing is that little kids are so fully present that it requires me to be. The challenge is remaining present with Adults.

  3. Pisces-- some days the dance is a tango, and some days it is a square dance and some days it just feels like twister... but it's never dull!!
Penolan-- yeah, kids are great; adults can ( typically) learn a lot from them. thanks for the visit and the insight.
Punch-- and back at you; thanks, man
