my words for now

today I am taken by how absolutely
I dwell
in every moment
I spend with you
...stories ...
not remorse soaked compensation for time lost
you and I traveled that time in one sweet day
and in so many moments since

you here now, means the world to me
even more so in the small things
your delicate, sinewy arms
the bones of your elbows just there below the sleeves of your shirt
how your hand gestures translate smooth movements under the skin of your forearms
now, there, before my eyes...
I want to see all of it
hear all of it
know about anything you want to disclose
I cherish the comfortable quiet
soft glances between us
pace and rhythm of our silences and solitudes
perhaps you know all this already
all the same, here is my heart
and my words for now...

  1. This is totally beautiful and I feel a longing for that feeling

  2. I am a hopeless romantic so Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh just beautiful, you.

  3. So loving and beautiful, heart-felt sentiment. A lovely read, just lovely.

  4. thanks for the heartfelt comments on my heartfelt sentiment; is it not a lovely thing, this forging of emotional connection with carefully chosen words? and is it not as lovely knowing that the person(s) brought to mind by carefully chosen words are so beloved...

  5. I answer with an unqualified yes to your questions! That's what is so wonderful to me about your poetry, Harlequin.

  6. I am back again still loving this one

  7. thanks, Linda-- glad it called you back

  8. The yearning, for more in those first fragile moments of beginnings.Beautifully written, captured

    Have a lovely weekend,

  9. Selchie/Sarah-- thanks so much for this comment...the first fragile moments ... this feels so appropriate for what I wanted to convey here;
    warm regards to you...
