Aziza

sweet attentiveness
at the heart of your noticing
a tenderness of embodied memory
I can almost see
the soft smile
you must have felt
playing about your face
as you beheld
a cherished moment
and just when I could not
imagine
loving you more
I do

  2. Crow-- thanks so much; I have Khaled Hosseini to thanks for the title of this piece, his lovely and wrenching renditions of Afghanistan through the lives and loves of his amazing characters. Aziza: cherished one; and it is a tribute to my son who continues to impress and amaze me with his depths and sensitivity.
